Spiced and roasted corn aromas waft from the glass. Exceptionally smooth and round in the mouth with underpinnings of grainy spice, the flavors are decidedly earthy with plenty of toasted grain and freshly split wood.

We thought it would be fitting to bring our space chimp home and let him chill. Whether you have a long mission behind you or a full afternoon ahead, this session IPA will help keep things real. More relaxed than an IPA, but with all the hop aroma and flavor, Down to Earth is our tribute to unsung heroes and unplanned adventures.

Brewer's Notes: This American wheat beer is brewed with real watermelon, for a flavor that’s surprisingly crisp, dry and refreshing—summer in a can. We start by brewing a classic American wheat beer, which undergoes a traditional secondary fermentation using fresh watermelon. A straw-colored, refreshing beer with a kiss of watermelon aroma and flavor.

Winemaker's Notes: Reflects the best fruit that Lake and Mendocino counties have to offer. As always, the SUM is a unique and highly stylistic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and select varietals that make up a bold proprietary cuvee, where the finished wine is bigger than the “SUM” of its parts. This year we used primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with nearly equal amounts of Cabernet Franc, Tempranillo and Petite Sirah.

Winemaker's Notes: This wine showcases our family’s fruit from Lake and Mendocino Counties. It is a rich and balanced Cabernet Sauvignon expressing aromas of red currents, strawberry jam and black berries as well as a touch of fresh hay. These aromatics are balanced with a note of toffee/biscotti from a year of aging in medium+ toast French oak (30% new). A hint of freshly tilled soil adds further complexity. It is smooth on entry as the tannins are well integrated into this full-bodied wine. Finish is long and lingering.

Brewer's Notes: In collaboration with our local Bay Area friends at Fieldwork Brewing (who know a “little” about hops in beers) we bring you A Terrible Idea. Discover malt clouds supporting silky yeast with a creamy mouthfeel, then brace yourself for a MAMMOTH dry hop charge – 4 pounds of hops per barrel to be exact – which is twice our typical rate.

Was inventing a triangle wheel a terrible idea? Ok yes, maybe so. Was making this beer? Absolutely not. We stand behind the claim that the strong hop flavors and aromas, coupled with juicy notes of peach, orange, mango and pineapple will spark your taste buds back from extinction.

Amber in the glass, this Scotch has a rich butterscotch aroma, with touches of fresh apple and tropical fruit. Look for dried fruit and Sherry upfront on the palate, with additional notes of vanilla and oak that hang on through the exceedingly long and rounded finish. Though it's mouthcoating and oily, it's also roughed up a bit by the high proof, giving it a drying edge on the close.

The berries add a fruity aroma, tartly sweet taste and a subtle purple color and haze...you may see fruit pulp in the beer. This beer is best served with salads or light fruit desserts, such as soufflés or chiffon cakes. Many people enjoy it with chocolate desserts. Purple Haze® pairs well with certain cheeses, such as ripened Brie or any dessert made with mascarpone. It’s also great paired with entrees prepared with fruit, especially citrus. Turbodog® is a dark brown ale brewed with pale, caramel, and chocolate malts and Willamette hops. This combination gives Turbodog® its rich body and color and a sweet chocolate, toffee-like flavor. Turbodog® began as a specialty ale, but has gained a huge, loyal following and has become one of our flagship brews. This ale pairs well with most meats and is great served with hamburgers or sausages. It is a good match with smoked fish and can even stand up to wild-game dishes. Turbodog® is also great for marinating and braising meats and cooking such things as cabbage and greens. Colby, Gloucester, Cheddar and blue cheeses go nicely with Turbodog®. It’s perfect with spicy Louisiana jambalaya or Spanish paella. Some even like it paired with chocolate!

Clear in the glass, this newcomer has a pleasing lime lollipop scent. The flavor is mild, with a faintly bitter midpalate giving way to a lime-peel finish. Recommended for mixing with tonic or soda water.

Luscious and perfumy, with Christmas clementine and vanilla aromas. However, there's far more orange on the nose than on the palate: a big alcohol bite comes first, followed by neutral flavor with just a suggestion of orange, and a floral finish.

Well-integrated hints of brown spice and vanilla contribute layers of complexity. A full structure, firm tannins and a long finish create an expansive palate that is hard to forget. With crisp, clean air and intense sunlight, growing conditions in Mendoza are truly ideal for Argentinian Malbec.

Once that time is up, we take the beer out of our cold cellars and blend it back with a portion of fresh Tripel. The resulting rich, golden ale features smooth notes of coconut, vanilla, and a hint of bourbon.

Brewer's Notes: While Hoppy Table Beer was inspired by the Belgian tradition of low-ABV, easily drinkable beers, it still occupies a hop-forward spot all its own. Brewed with our 2-row malt blend, Maris Otter malt, and oats, the beer is then spiced with a subtle addition of coriander. We ferment it with our house yeast for classic Belgian citrus aromas. Hoppy Table Beer is hopped with Chinook, Cascade, Comet, and Azacca hops, then dry hopped with more Comet and Azacca. A mildly hoppy aroma full of grapefruit springs from this straw-colored, light-bodied ale. Flavors of pine and stone fruit balance the beer’s clean, slightly bitter finish.

...Cloudy pale yellow in colour with a creamy big bubbled lace that shows no problem of retaining...An extravagant spicy mix and a touch of lemon hit the nose sharp. Coriander and orange peel are evident as well as an earthy yeast. Taste: Crisp and a bit smooth with a moderate body and medium carbonation. Soft flavours of barley and wheat are cut by a flare of spiciness, coriander is a bit dominant. The orange peel is a touch bitter with a soft rind like flavour. A little touch of fruit (pear & plum), yeast and a dash of hop bitterness in the finish. The fermented wheat provides a lingering spiciness that fades slowly in the semi-dry finish. -AB

Brewer's Notes: The champagne-like bubbles, distinctive hop bouquet, and balanced character of Liberty Ale® revives centuries-old ale brewing traditions that are now more relevant than ever. First introduced in 1975, Liberty Ale® is brewed strictly according to traditional craft brewing methods, and uses only natural ingredients — pale malted barley, fresh whole-cone Cascade hops and a special top-fermenting yeast, and water.

The yeast used during fermentation produces many of Liberty Ale's subtle flavors and characteristics. A natural process called "bunging" creates gentle carbonation, and the practice of dry hopping (adding fresh hops to the brew during aging), revived by Anchor, creates its unique aroma.

Liberty Ale® was first brewed to celebrate the bicentennial of Paul Revere’s historic ride. As the first modern American IPA brewed after prohibition and the first modern American single-hop ale and dry-hopped ale, Anchor’s Liberty Ale® is the original craft brewed ale and the historic beer that started a revolution.

    Anchor Steam Beer 6pk

    San Francisco, California
    Star-K Recommended

    Brewer's Notes:
Anchor Steam® Beer owes its deep amber color, thick, creamy head, and rich, distinctive flavor to a historic brewing process like none other.

It is a process that combines deep respect for craft brewing tradition with many decades of evolution to arrive at a unique approach: a blend of pale and caramel malts, fermentation with lager yeast at warmer ale temperatures in shallow open-air fermenters, and gentle carbonation in our cellars through an all-natural process called kräusening.

Anchor Steam® Beer derives its unusual name from the 19th century when “steam” was a nickname for beer brewed on the West Coast of America under primitive conditions and without ice. While the origin of the name remains shrouded in mystery, it likely relates to the original practice of fermenting the beer on San Francisco’s rooftops in a cool climate. In lieu of ice, the foggy night air naturally cooled the fermenting beer, creating steam off the warm open pans. Once a nickname for any Californian or West Coast beer brewed under these conditions, today the name “steam” is a trademark of Anchor Brewing and applies only to the singular process and taste of our flagship brand - San Francisco’s original Anchor Steam® Beer. The classic of American brewing tradition since 1896.

Named for the "Angel's share," the portion that evaporates from the barrel during the aging process, this golden amber spirit is finished in Port barrels, which explains those juicy red-fruit notes that slide into the long finish.

This honey-hued rye has a remarkable aroma, melding cookie dough, hazelnut and marzipan. The same luscious flavors show up on the palate, rich and sweet, leading into a confected finish of Nutella sprinkled with nutmeg and cinnamon. The sugar-and-spice effect is due to 18 months finishing time in casks that first held Cognac, then Caribbean rum.

Brewer's Notes: Fresh green apple and overripe pear at first sniff with allusions to hay, cedar, and brown spice. Refreshing and semisweet on the palate, apples abound with a hint of savory spice and herbs before a touch of caramel comes through.

Brewer's Notes: Angry Orchard Crisp Apple has a bright, crisp apple flavor, just like biting into a fresh apple. It is a perfect balance of sweetness and bright acidity from culinary apples and dryness of traditional cider making apples, resulting in a complex, yet refreshing, hard cider.
